I read that you use an Intuos5.
I would love to know if it's true that the surface is not as good as it should be. If it's true that it is easy damaged by the pen (because I was planing on buying the intuos 5 instead of the intuos 4).
Also it's told that the tip of the pen wears off very fast.
Are these 2 points true?
Would be very helpful to answer these questions =)!

I know exactly what youre talking about. Both intuos4 and 5 suffer from the same thing where they tried to change the texture of it....cant really tell a difference in the texture itself however it doesnt damage anything. The only issue is that the tip does wear down quite fast. I used to have the old generation bamboo and ive only had to change the nib once but it was very worn within the 2years of using it. Ive change the nib once quite recently on the 5. Honestly though im not sure if its down to either two things, one im just wearing away the surface cause its brand new or two it does actually wear down quite quickly. What makes me think its the first reason is because ive been using the second nib for a lot longer now and it looks fine. But either case you will have to change it more often than the intuos3 or the old generations bamboos (not sure if theyve changed it on the new ones but havent read anything on it). Its a minor hassle but its like with a pencil or paint its gonna run out and your gonna have to replace it at some point...same thing here.

I was reluctant like you to begin with but the benefits out weight the nib issue. If it bothers you that much id look for an intuos3 if it doesnt then 5 would be good.

I have no problems with buying new tips all the
time. I was just afraid of the surface, that it might
feel weird to draw on it after a certain time.
As long as the surface does not decrease my drawingskills, I will be happy with it.

Well its a bit of a weird thing to worry about its like getting a new mouse anything new feels different and "weird" but you get use to it after time and you dont notice it.

Yeh I guess a few people overextended with their comments about the intuos5.
Well it's mostly the case that people rather give bad than good comments and your opinion was bothsided and well explained. I shouldn't worry about it too much.
